Strength to Stand Info

The Strength to Stand Conference will be January 19-21, 2008, in Pigeon Forge, TN. I have posted some links to the conference forms below. Each student and counselor must fill out a registration form along with a church release form. The forms must be completed and returned to Tim or Renae no later than Sunday, December 16th.The forms are posted here.

It's Really that Simple

Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If you don't, you can. The word of God says this:

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
(Romans 3:23)
None of us is perfect; most of us have done some bad things. In fact, regardless of what we have done, we all are born with a sin nature and we don't measure up to God's perfect standard of righteousness...

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 6:23)
Because we are all sinners, what we deserve is death, and if we do not repent and turn to God, that is what we will receive - an eternal spiritual death. We haven't done anything to earn God's favor; however, because He loves us, He has made a way for us to have eternal life...

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
(John 3:16-17)
God chose to send a perfect sacrifice, so that we could have a way to be close to Him. That perfect sacrifice is God's Son Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth, lived, died on a cross, and was resurected after three days to provide a way for us to have a relationship with God...

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(Romans 10:9-10)
He wants a relationship with us, but he will not force us to against our will. We have to make a choice...

That choice is really simple. God has already done all of the work for us! If you feel God dealing with your heart, you could pray a simple prayer like this: "God, I know that I am a sinner. I want forgiveness for my sins. I believe, God, that Your Son Jesus Christ came to earth, lived, died, was resurected and lives again so that I could be saved. God, I give my life to you to do with as You wish. I want Jesus Christ to come in to my life and into my heart and save me. Amen." The words don't have to be exact, but your heart has to be sincere.

That's really all there is to it. It really is that simple.If you sincerely prayed that prayer, it is important for you to begin to grow in your relationship with Christ. Get a Bible, God's Word, and start to read - the book of John in the New Testament is a good place to start. Get in a good Bible-based church so you can fellowship with and be encouraged by other believers. Talk to God - that's what praying is all about - sharing your heart with God.
